Billy Donovan on someone having a bad attitude:

“Always assuming there is something wrong with other people and not with yourself.”

On Russell Westbrook:

“I don’t want to say Russell is a pass-first guard, or even a scoring guard. He just needs to go out there and be himself. He plays so hard, he plays to win. And I really believe this about Russell: Last year, he scored a lot of points, won the scoring title, but I don’t think he’s wrapped up in that. I think he’s really wrapped up in winning and finding ways to win and what he feels the best way for the group to win is.”

On playing for Billy Donovan at Florida:

“Man, he was one of the best coaches I’ve ever played for. I loved playing for him because he never guaranteed me anything. That’s really the main reason why I went there. He told me I had to earn everything and he was going to put me in the best situation to succeed but he said it wasn’t going to be easy and I had to work hard for it. And I appreciated that from Day One and he’s always been like a second dad to me.”
