Last night we had four situations in college basketball.
Oakland University decided to foul against NDSU.
It worked.
NDSU player missed both free-throws, Oakland grabbed rebound.
Game over. OU wins.
Now, check out this clip of the Iona-Marist game.
The Gaels are up three, on defense and at home.
Interestingly, in the second OT Marist chose not to foul after going up by 3 on 2 FT’s with 12 seconds left. They gave up a 2 pt FG with 5 seconds left (the equivalent of fouling and giving up 2 FT’s) then turned the ball over and survived Iona’s last second miss.
Crazy things can happen in the last 5 seconds of a game. Just ask Tom Crean.
John, crazy things can happen at any point in the game.
Thanks for stopping.
Don’t you think forcing a 65-footer is better than fouling?
