Here’s today’s segment in the 90 Day Basketball Improvement plan; thoughts on the Michigan State men’s head basketball coach and his successful program.
Day 20 – Tom Izzo
One of the best in college basketball. Not many guys can match him on and off the court.
Learn to Listen, Listen to Learn is Tom Izzo’s favorite saying. How good of a listener are you?
Paying attention is key to him; you need to keep your head in the game and in practice.
Click here for a blog entry I wrote about Izzo and his program.
“Coach Izzo taught me the fundamentals of the game so that I could become a better player. When he recruited me, he promised me a chance to play in a championship game to become an all-american. Because of him, my dreams became a reality.”

I’d love to be able to go to Michigan State and spend a few days picking Coach Izzo’s brain. His War rebounding drill is one of our favorites.
He’s also put many guys out there as Head Coaches. One of my favorite people is Brian Gregory at Dayton.
Brad, Coach Izzo is the best. His practices are open for all to see. He’s got nothing to hide. Very approachable guy. Let me know if you ever want to come out.
Did coach izzo gives you his regards on your newjob as head varsity bball coach?
Funny you should ask that. I was standing on the corner, on my cell phone and he came zooming by in his Black Lexus. LOL
