My father left our family when I was five years old; I didn’t have a dad around to rebound my missed shots and pass it back out to me like the father I witnessed this morning in a nearby driveway with his young son. (When I was a kid I was able to go across the street from our apartment to the schoolyard and play basketball with my friends).
A few weeks ago I came up with a great idea for the NBA all-star weekend (the Slam Dunk contest is tired, please get rid of it).
How about a Father-Son Shootout?
Take a former NBA player and team him up with his son. Only thing is, the son has to be a current or former college player or a member of the an NBA team.
We can work out some more details as we go along.
I’m in the process of writing up the proposal and will mail it to Mr. Stern.
Here are a few guys that I’d like to see suit up and shoot it up. (feel free to add any other)
Michael and Jeff Jordan
Jelly Bean and Kobe Bryant
Bill and Luke Walton
Rick and Brent Barry
Henry and Mike Bibby
Dell and Steph Curry
Mike and Mike Dunleavy
Larry and Larry Drew
Scott and Sean May
George and Koby Karl
Tito and Al Horford
Boot and Ronnie Brewer
Randy and Ryan Wittman
Doc and Jeremiah Rivers
Gerald and Damien Wilkins
What do you think? Can we pull it off or what? Would Mr. Stern go for this idea? Pass this idea along, maybe someone will take notice…

Frascilla has a coaching itch. He’s sick of arm chairing it.. pecora at fordham with a contract worth millions.
Thanks Claud, I need to start getting deep with the blog-need to be more compelling I guess. Weather is great here in East Lansing! Looking forward to the games this weekend. Can Lavin bring back the glory days? Only time will tell. Siena should hire Norm.
