REST

While watching the Jazz and Spurs Thursday night,  I kept hearing Doug Collins of TNT talk about giving guys a rest.  I hate this kind of talk.

Do guys really need a rest?

In 1962, Wilt Chamberlain played 48.5 minutes per game.  Yes, you read that right.

Chicago Bulls forward Tyrus Thomas broke his forearm during a weight lifting session.  Yikes…

Joe Johnson of the Atlanta Hawks via Bleacher Report:

“I don’t know when we all of a sudden just really became a selfish team,” Johnson said. “Now everybody wants to go one-on-one. It’s me, me, me. It’s crazy, man.”

“Everybody who touches it wants to score,” Johnson said. “I really think guys on this team don’t know their roles, so it’s killing us. And it’s going to continue to kill us.”

Hawks are 4-2.  This has nothing to do with killing the team; this may get ugly.

Cheryl Miller on NBA TV said Carmelo Anthony is the second best player in the NBA.  Ummm, Miss Miller, if Kobe and LeBron are the two best, how is Carmelo 2nd best?

  1. Sean D.

Interested in hearing your prediction or current thoughts on Carmelo Anthony and his chances on winning the scoring title this year?

Sean, I like Carmelo Anthony a lot. I think his mind-set has changed after a few years in the league and playing with Chauncey Billups (I can tell by his body language) He looks determined. A scoring title would be great but I’d rather see him win a ring.

    Thanks for stopping.

FWIW, Carmelo was born in Red Hook, Brooklyn!
