So sorry I haven’t been blogging but last Tuesday I was struck by an automobile while walking to my car. Someone ran a red light, got hit by a car going through the intersection and smashed into me – the local newspaper. Cit-Pat has the story.
It’s difficult typing with one hand.
I sustained a few injuries; broken wrist, broken leg, fractured cheek bone and a concussion – hopefully I am back on the sidelines soon.
I recall Bobby Hurley’s car accident back in the 90’s and this morning I read an article by Adrian W of yahoo sports.com on a former Canisius basketball player who is in a coma due to a car accident.
I’m not sure if you have ever been in a car accident or have had a loved one involved, but I will tell you, it’s scary! All I heard was a screech and from the corner of my eye I saw the vehicle - the next thing I knew I was hit.
All I recall is being in the ambulance strapped down for the next six hours.
All week long I have been repeating this essay on Attitude:
‘The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.’
GIVE YOUR BEST EVERY DAY!

DSD,
Thanks a ton. Hope you’re doing well. Keep improving the game!
Coach,
Get better quickly! Good luck with the rest of the season.
Billy
Sorry to read about your unfortunate circumstance. Hope your convalescence proceeds without any further complications. I was heartened greatly by the recent ceremonies prior to the game honoring both Bobby Thompkins and Robert Burton. You are on the right track to connect JCC’s Past with the Future. Have fun doing it.
